During the facial, Dr. Guy uses platelet-rich plasma (PRP) microneedling to increase cell production and repair your skin.
PRP is a concentrated amount of your own platelets made from your blood. Platelets are messengers that tell the body to begin collagen repair by activating various growth factors.
As you age, your ability to generate new cells slows. This is often first apparent on your skin because your facial skin is thin and delicate compared to the skin elsewhere on your body.
Collagen and elastin are two fibers that help your skin look plump and spring back to smoothness after you smile. What happens during a PRP facial?
Dr. Guy begins your PRP facial by drawing a vial of your blood. He generates the PRP in the office with a special centrifuge process.
Then, he cleans your skin. If you are sensitive to needles or pain, you can request a topical numbing cream to ensure your comfort during the procedure. Then, he uses a hand-held MicroPen™ to inject the PRP serum into your skin.
Depending on your needs, he may also incorporate under skin injections to maximize the effectiveness of your facial. This is entirely your decision at treatment. The entire treatment takes 60-90 minutes.
Dr. Guy can also use natural fillers to enhance the look of saggy skin with a custom formulated tightener solution. Both are made directly from your own blood. This requires a consultation before proceeding.
Your skin needs time to grow new cells. You should start to see results over the next few days and weeks, although everyone responds slightly differently to the treatment.
It is highly recommended for a series of three injections, once per month to see the best results. They offer packages for this.
